I know that there are problems getting diesel on US but i read recently that its use is on the up due to the rising cost of petrol. The new diesel engines are great, clean, economical to the point of putting petrol to shame, and they no longer have the slowness that they were once renowned for. my friend who has the TDI had Golf before hand, the one below the GTI and loved that as well. as well as that all of the revieweres in europe love it, heralding it as the best since the true original, the mark1.

Thanks Mark. I read that Volkswagen Golf is the #1 seller in Europe. Judging from the feed backs I've read so far, I can't go wrong with the Golf/GTI family. I need to do some soul searching about diesel tho.
