Reading most of the night left me realizing that there is limited data access (SQL CE) from CE.NET and .NET CF. If I am wrong, or if there are work arounds, can someone shed some light? I have a hard time believing an enterprise tool has no data access.

Just an update for anyone who sees this thread.

I have decided to forgo .NET and use the MCL development tool and runtime.

It is a shame that the .NET Compact Framework on Windows CE is so limited for enterprise use. All throughout the web over the past two weeks, all I have read are posts in other forumns where people have the same issue, trying to access someting other than SQL Server CE to manipulate enterprise data. Especially with wireless portable data terminals scanning barcodes or RFID. Seems as though Microsoft is once again letting third parties do all the heavy lifting so they can just buy the cream of the crop. Meanwhile, small developers and in-house staff are trying to cobble solutions together without breaking the bank on expensive third party solutions. < /rant >
