>>I don't think this guy is confused, nor that he needs any god. Solipsism is flawless. Now would this guy wish to split his personality into "Me, the only real person in this world" and "Me, the god of this world", or would he think that the first person suffices - you'd have to find him and ask.

>Well that's all very nice fancy psyco talk. But any time someone believes that he is the lone human in the world and that everyone else is just his imagination, I say he need professional help; or he's got the worst case of narcissism. Know what I mean? :-)

Psycho or not - within his dogma, he may be perfectly fine. It's his private universe, he can establish his own criteria for mental health and stick to them. He can have his own logic and prove that we don't exist, and be perfectly sane at that - within the ramifications of his dogma. Now we may try to prove him wrong, but since we don't exist, it doesn't matter whatever we say.

Now what if he's right? Can you prove he isn't?

>>Of course, anyone can argue that solipsism begins with a false assumption of reality as being nonexistent outside the solipsist's mind - but within the solipsist dogma, that's the only reality possible. It's perfect as a simple example of a closed dogma which can't be proven or disproven.

Oh, just because he didn't bother to spread his dogma around, didn't build a hierarchy of followers, acolytes, priests, lieutenants etc, doesn't mean he's insane. If he did, he may even be tax exempt as a perfectly legal religion. So, since he's not built an institution, you'd incarcerate him into one? I reckon the guy is no danger to himself or others. Or is this the old practice (which may have once been perfectly legal within your dogma) to pronounce those who think differently as insane and lock them up?

Thanks, but I prefer my brain as it is. Raw and whole.
