Yes TXH. I have _incseek system variable in VFP7 and also know how to use this variable. But the limit value is 5.5 and moreover I am afraid I must use a different object because the combo has over 6000 records fetched from SQL server to local cursor and it isn't so smart. May be that this is the reason for strange behavior of combo.

But if I use the same recordset with the same number of records and use it as rowsource in MS Access it works fine. And users think why it couldnt work same. You probably know how cobmos in MS Access work. You fill character and combo fill the first matched record. Then you fill second character and combo search the first record matched your fwo inserded strings and so on. There is no limit for inserting strings.

May be I will need to thing about some class whitch would be able to fetch data after first character insert :)
