>>>PMFJI, I am sorry I can't recommend a free DVD copy software. I bought 123 COPY DVD some time ago, it was on sale for like $20 (after rebate). But my question to you is, what free CD ripping software have you used? I need to convert a track from a CD to MP3 format but I have never done it. Since I only need it for one song/track, I don't want to spend too much (or little <g>) money.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net - it's a freebie audio thingie, and for some reasons also can't produce mp3 directly, but with it uses the classic command-line lame_enc.dll encoder, which is actually zipped together with it. I use it as a de-popper or just as a recorder - I've once recorded almost half an hour of conversation with it, and saved the file as mp3, no problem.
