>One of my favorite Thomas Paine quotes from "The Age of Reason": "The study of theology, as it stands in Christian churches, is the study of nothing; it is founded on nothing; it rests on nothing; it proceeds by no authorities; it has no data; it can demonstrate nothing". And let's not forget a great quote from Isaac Asimov: Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived".

Kevin;

LOL!
Perhaps that is why they would not let us read the bible when I was in Catholic School! :)

Great comments! I am Catholic and practice my religion but I do have a mind that questions and enjoy comments such as the above. I still have faith in my religion but I have an open mind.

There are those who have heard me discuss religion from a historical, theological or philosophical context, and tried to convert me to the “true religion”. They did not know I am Catholic. So far no Catholics have tried to convert me. There are over 1000 different sects of the Protestant faith and I think that at least one member from each sect has attempt to “save me from myself”! :)

One guy found out that I am Catholic and said, “I was Catholic and then I truly saw the light”! I cannot see changing my belief system based upon the last person who confronted me. :)
