1) I can not change this piece of code, because it's from the framework. However, I added a temp check in this class and I do see, that I'm on the right alias (I write alias() to the file right after tableupdate command)

It should not be, though I may try to test it.
Also I found the strangest behavior. I added browse in pre save hook and in post save hook. In the pre save I see 4 records (though actually I have 7 records in the view). In the post save hook I see less one record, e.g. only 3. That's extremely strange.
I had the same problem before. May be you're right and the main table somehow got buffered too?
Well, the table is not buffered, I checked that. Strangely, but requerying the view before inserting a new record cures the problem.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
