Well, in VFP 9, the right-click menu isn't at the top left anymore -- it's at the top right instead.

But, try this for instance... bring up the systray solution example and pick Menu 1, then right-click the icon added into your systray to confirm that it does indeed have the menu correctly placed above it... then go into VFP and just click in the white space somewhere in the taskpane form, then go back to right-click on the systray smiley icon. The Right-click menu should now be showing at the very top left of the screen. It was too buggy for me when I tried to use then, and even with the responding problem gone, I have reasons why I don't trust it in a distributed application.
