Now here's a courageous fellow! And I understand what you are saying as long as upgrade stuff. But when these companies will be at a point of a major rewrite, I am not sure you will have the same responses.

>Of course. You can't just do a conversion to OO without planning it out first, and finding the places for re-use. The conversion from procedural to OO is as large in VFP as if you converted it to a different language, except that you get to reuse some, but not all, of cour code. It's later in the project when you save your time, not the first stage....

In my case, it was later ... like a few months after the project was to be delivered :). Do not get me wrong. This aspect of the problem is my weak project planning, and I am not blaming VFP of course.

Garett, you are a nice guy. This really goes straight to my hart (this is translated French I'm afraid).

>That could change, with all the good press the VFP6 beta is getting... Infoworld ran a large, very positive review of the beta, and their biggest objection was that the beta issues needed to be straightened out....

and I think that it is too little too late. What is called for is a statement from Bill (God) Gates on national television :).

Take care.
