For the last three years I have seen and heard the following report on television from several news sources:

Headline and I quote: “Violent crime is down. Rape and murder are up”! I have heard this dialogue for the last three years. All that we have to do is to read one federal report (there are several different ones available, including the one you referenced) and understand that rape and murder are not acts of violence.

I guess I have to disregard what news agencies have stated and believe the one source you gave. Or could it be that the numbers are being played with? We all have our own reality.
