I had to reinstall once when for reaons I never discovered, VS .NET 2003 decided on startup that the operation I was trying to access was on the dvd. Whe I put the dvd in, it told me I was not permitted to run the required ooperation. I uninstalled, reinstalled, and all has been ok since.

>Actual elapsed time for me to fix this problem was about 4.5 hours. If I'd gone straight into the uninstall/reinstall route it would have been about 1.5 - 2.0 hours.
