I'm not sure who Jim Peron is so this does not help me understand. Has the official party stance/platform been to repeal the age-of-cosent laws?

Would you say they are against personal liberty, gun ownership, drugs, privacy, or immagration?

What is the role of government in a free society?

>Yes, it is legit. Key individuals in the libertarian movement have contributed to and promoted literature advocating the repeal of age-of-consent laws. There's an interesting (and pretty sordid) history of this involving Jim Peron. You can start here: http://jimperon.bravehost.com/ and here

>The libertarian movement partly self-destructed in the mid-late 1980's. The fundamental problem with the Libertarian movement is that they're simply "against" things. They regard many legitimate rules and policies as "fascist". They oppose libel and slander laws (and yet some have threatened to sue themsleves).
