I suggest, before you decide on that, you visit Saudi and see what can happen when the state follows so-called God's law. What'll there be then: stoning for adultery, lopping off of hands for theft, the plucking out of eyes for eyes?
Didn't this thread sort of begin on the separation of politics and religion. Now, if I read this right, you're talking of running for office, yet adhering to "the word of God", which, although written by men, you attribute to His lips.
btw, why is it God's word hasn't been updated for a few thousand years?
