>Yes but such goals as tolerance, understanding, liberty, "the mind's true liber-a-a-tion" can, and have been achieved or improved upon.
Or diverted into ersatz efforts, like political correctness. Sure, there's a lot more tolerance towards different lifestyles, as long as you can afford them. And the people (here, at least) are very polite and smiling even when they aren't paid to do it.
OTOH, I don't see "mind's true liberation" in the media at all. The whole thing hasn't touched the world of business. Worse, the jingoism is back, the rape is on the rise, slavery is reappearing in places...
> Back in the day of Hair, I'm not quite sure if homosexuality was still illegal in the UK, but now you can see men kissing on the street, 3 or 4 out of this year's Big Brother are openly, overtly gay (not that I've watched any of that crap), they'd have special gay editions of Blind Date, et al.
"Big brother" being IngSoc leader or a TV Show? In the latter case, what did I say? Market. Serbian proverb: "coin pokes holes where drill won't".
>Aye but you still can't get the makings to go with those king-sized Rizzlas they sell though, eh? :-)
If under "rizla" you mean cigarette paper, I've rolled double length a couple of times, just for kicks. If it's anything else, I dunno whacha talking about.
