Gangs are fewer and farther between in the U.S. because most of them have relocated to Fayetteville, NC. Can't figure out what they want here and I sure wish they'd leave! To hear the city tell it, we have little gang activity compared to other metropolitan areas. I see more of it here than I ever did in larger cities in the U.S. I've lived in. Of course, I think crime is just worse here period than most other places in the U.S.

>>
>>You've got to get your facts straight. Gangs are on a downward trend. Oh but wait, the Dept of Justice is a left wing puppet.

>Reading “official reports” can be an interesting topic. By “official reports” I am referring to those reports created and released by federal agencies within the United States. Many times different agencies release similar reports with data that is very different from each other.

>Gangs are in decline? Well, I guess then that all the gangs have moved to the San Francisco Bay area or perhaps to Los Angeles. I can only speak about my own backyard and what the local authorities and news sources are stating. We have a serious gang problem and we are loosing many of our youth as well as incident bystanders, to gang murders.
>
>Granted we cannot trust the media to give factual information but then we are conditioned to speculate. If the police state there is a problem then I accept what they have stated. The police in our area tell us how many people are murdered by gang activity. The murder could be that of a three month old child or a 60 year old man who have nothing to do with gangs. Wearing specific colors will make you eligible for an opposing gang killing you, regardless of the fact that you have no gang affiliation.
>
>When our children were in school we were told they should not wear specific colors because of gang activity. Where I live is considered to be one of the safest places within the United States, but the gangs do not know that.
>
>Drugs are but one part of gang activity.

>Richmond, California is but one place where there is gang activity. It is called the murder capital of the United States. I understand that other cities also make this claim. There must be a reason.

>Perhaps you are correct and there is in fact less gang activity within the United States then in previous years. It could well be that the police and society are just more sensitive to this topic and the media puts more emphasis upon it.
>
>It could also be that our federal agencies want to paint a picture of a beautiful landscape where the birds sing, the sun shines, and the flowers grow. All things in fact are in harmony. There are no problems. Visions of the George Lucas film THX1038. Take a pill and everything will be all right!
