Beta 1, due Aug. 3 will definately have compatability issues, especially with video. Microsoft suggests you run it on one of the recommended video cards (I haven't seen a list) to take full advantage of Avalon. It is expected that hardware manufacturers will continue to provide more drivers during the beta, thus Vista will support more hardware as time goes on.
There will be some software that won't work. From what I hear, you will not be able to run Beta 1 under Virtual PC (bummer). However, compatability with most stuff is very high. I understand it will even run Visicalc.
>I wonder how comapatible it will be with existing software/hardware? Will it run all the old stuff still? I had to do hardware upgrades for XP, but it handled older software well.
