I'm as fervent a Bush disliker as they come. Despite his having gotten through Yale, I think he's by far the least intelligent president we have had in my lifetime (including the overly maligned Jerry Ford), has an overly simplistic and antagonistic view of the world, is more than willing to trample on our rights in the pursuit of security, and has grossly violated our heritage in the treatment of the prisoners in Cuba.

ON THE OTHER HAND.........

Despite having "caught 1 person" there has not been a terrorist attack in the US since 9/11. Why is that? Just Luck?

Would Gore have done any better? Nope.......can't do better than no attacks. Would he have done worse? Would Kerry? I don't think so, but (unfortunately) they were not elected so we'll never know for sure and all the yelling is just speculation.

I don't know what has happened behind the scenes in terms of attacks stopped, etc. I don't want to know because that knowledge could be useful to the "bad guys."

So, ON THIS ISSUE, I will give him a great deal of credit. I don't feel 'safer' because of what he's done but I certainly don't feel unsafe either. And that's not a "I won't let the terrorists beat me" attitude. I'm with Mark........there's much more danger crossing the street, or wearing the wrong colors than there is from any terrorist attack.
