I have two forms, frmemployeemaster and frmemployeedetail. On the frmemployeemaster I want to click my edit button and have it open up the frmemployeedetail form with this ssnumber selected.

In access the form's detail datasource would be a filtered query with the ssnumber as the parameter.

Any basic help would be appreciated.

I quess:

code in edit button on master to open frmemployeedetail (do form frmemployeedetail) however, what happens if a record is not selected in the grid?

If you can lead me down the path, I will research it, or an article that explains what I want to do.
