I think it's better than that, Bob.

I read here a long time ago that VFP itself internally uses multithreading for its own work.
Somebody wrote about an experience they had with a multiprocessor setup where they got huge benefits. No doubt the application (design, file sizes, etc) had lots to do with it, but the multiple CPUs were definitely attributable to the benefit seen,
