Are you saying that...from the local work station you:
...Went into printers, properties, details
...Assigned a network share/queue for the printer
...Clicked on Capture Port
...Selected LPT1:, LPT2: etc.

If you selected LPT1:...try LPT2: or LPT3:

The computer may be trying to print out of the local parallel port, despite
your desgination.

Is this printer on an NT work station?

We have less problems if we put printers on file servers (Novell or NT) or on stand alone printer ports (Intel, HP, etc).
