Well, what can I tell ya.

I'd say I saw over 2 dozen men with side arms in plain view.
It was on a drive from/to Montreal-Florida a long time ago and I didn't take the Interstate for lots of the journey, both ways.

It tapered off in Florida. I don't remember seeing any there.
It was one of those things that you never see in Canada, so it stuck out like a sore thumb.

>I have never seen anyone except for law enforcement wearing a side-arm in a restaurant or even out on the street. I have lived in many places here and traveled all over the U.S. and never experienced that. I live 15 minutes from a major military base and haven't seen it. We also have a law now that requires guns to be registered and also a law on concealed weapons. So if you have one and it is registered it had better be visible.

>>Well I have seen people (in the U.S.) wearing side-arms in restaurants and such, and they seemed to grow in numbers the further south I got.
>>
>>But I think the real issue is that laws AGAINST guns, especially revolvers, make them far less obtainable in the first place. We don't have "guns shows" here, nor flea markets where all manner of weapons are sold.
>>
>>I once saw statistics (yes, they can lie) that, if memory serves, said that there were more gun deaths in the U.S. annually than all other first-world countries combined.
>>
>>
>>>See this is where I think there are some misconceptions about America. I personally do not know one person who carries a gun. I only know one that owns any, and that is for hunting. And I'm in the South! As a whole, we are probably a bit more crass compared to other developed countries, but the whole cowboy thing is blown way out of proportion.
>>>
>>>>Virtually all European countries (and Canada and lots of others) have laws AGAINST owning/carrying handguns.
