I went to http://www.batteriesplus.com and found a store in Rockville, MD, which I called. The clerk found nothing for Sprint phones or the PPC-6600/6601. He didn't sound as if he knew much. I looked on the website itself. Under Cellular phones - Sprint, there are several models, but not mine. They have something for the Treo 600 but not the 650. Under PDA they don't list Sprint but do list one phone for Siemens, which I thought was the manufacturer of my phone, though it's branded by Sprint. It's the SX56, whatever that is.

I still haven't tried CompUSA or Microcenter or Computer City. I suppose that most people don't use spare batteries. If you remove it, the device forgets everything. You can't remove it while it's in its cradle, so the only way to use the backup is to have a travel charger, which I hope will leave room to get the battery out. Maybe I'll order one of those AA battery backup thingies. My current order for a travel charger and car charger is back-ordered.

I'd also like to know what is the best battery to have? Is there one that would give me more battery life than the one that came with it? Would it make the whole thing much bulkier or not fit in its case?

>Do you have "Batteries Plus" stores in your area? The ones in my area carry a wide variety of batteries for handheld devices.

>>One odd thing about Sprint: they are bad at selling accessories for their PDA phones. They don't seem to recognize it as a profit center. Many things are unavailable or out of stock when you call them to buy a phone. Their stores don't have PDA stuff, and some items are missing from their accessories website. I still don't know where to get a spare battery. Maybe a computer store.
