Is there any way to stop the validating event on user controls being executed when the user closes the form.

We inherit the main form and have tried changing the CausesValidation property on this but this doesn't seem to override the validating events of the controls.

Basically we have controls where in some circumstances they cannot be blank etc and a message is displayed, but if the user closes a form without saving then we would not want these messages displayed.

Thanks
Steve
