Gotcha. Yes, we lived though those times. Not as harsh as Dragan's or other people from Eastern Europe but yes it sounds like it. The main reason why I emigrated. Lack of freedom. And a lot of people in the USA, most of whom have not lived through repression, would easily give up their freedom for so called "security".
