I wish he would at least just make the minimum 3 characters AFTER you eliminate all the spaces from the string. He used to use PHDBase for the memo field search engine, and the limitation may have been 3 or more characters per "word" in the string for optimization purposes. It would have been be too intensive to allow searches on words of 1 or 2 characters if the engine broke the search down into each individual word in the string.

I see he can now handle exact string matching so I am guessing he no longer is tied to PHDBase. If that is true and exact string matches are allowed, this 3-character rule could now be the 3-characters-after-removing-spaces rule.
