>At first I like to inform that I am new in VFP . For vewing and printing I am usuing old Fox Dos system. AS per my knoledge printing through txt is faster than any other medium.
That would depend on the printer. If you use text-only report, you are basically limiting yourself to certain printers, like Epson dot-matrix printers. You get a
speed difference (for example, 1/2 minute instead of 2 minutes per page), but it won't work on all printers.
>Now I want to include MESSAGE IN THE txt which will guide the user. But in vain. Is it Possible? If yes? How?
If you want to do text-mode reports, you may want to use my download #9991. I include certain messages in the version of the report that goes to preview (preview can be either in TXT or HTML format); specifically, I inform the user what paper is needed, and I include very visible pagebreaks. You can surely adapt these messages to your needs.
Another option for text-mode reports, from the download section, is called "CodeRep". It looks interesting, but I didn't try it.
