>There is no right to be safe. It does not exist. This is all code for increased governmental control of our lives. Kind of ironic, considering the Republicans used to be the party of minimal government. They seem to have a different view now that they're in charge.

>Just the phrase "Patriot Act" sets my teeth on edge. Weren't we patriots before? I don't agree with much this administration does -- the so-called energy bill and the suppression of the report on gas mileage this week were whoppers even in Bushian terms -- but that doesn't change my love of my country. I was a patriot before it needed to be capitalized, as most of us were.

>You know what bugs me? Those Support The Troops bumper stickers on half the cars on the road. I know the intention is good, concern for our troops and their safe return, but if you think about it, what's the point? Do you know anyone who is not for the troops? I don't. I do know a lot of people who are against the troops having been put in harm's way by muddleheaded policy.

Mike;

I notice the majority of SUV’s (SOB’s) that cut me off or try to run me off the road have either “Child on board” or “Support The Troops bumper stickers”. I guess those bumper stickers make everything alright. :)

I am with you on how I feel about the term “Patriot Act”. Add "Homeland Security"! It seems important historically to separate people into two camps – them and us! The terms have changed over the course of our history. If you are not a Patriot then you must be a Terrorist! In the Vietnam era you were a communist if you were against the war. Real red-blooded Americans (United States citizens) want war – any war! Just ask John Wayne!

What I want to do is to create a business that sells flags for cars. You can purchase any countries flag and then attach it to your car. Just think of the fun! Listen or watch the news and recognize the flags of our enemies! Run those no good anti Americans off the road! Yeah! :)
