Crossreading suggests that the security info will be put into the header to divide from the message body.

Feel free, but I've mostly skimmed the docs on that and read a few examples. Not one of my areas of expertise.

If I wore your shoes I'ld ask for a trace or a request/response protocol first before trying out too much. At least you can later point to the missing protocols, if discussion moves to "time spent". Sometimes even "XML" is defined a bitt different, and these protocols can save a lot of time then.
