James,
I would have to remove the rowsource type and such to the state table to do that because I do not want to add an ALL record in my state table, then I would have to use a do while and add each state value to the combo along with the ALL option. Then with the filter thing, I am not using a set filter now. It seems when I do that with larger tables, it is really slow. The filter is by linking the tables with an index in the dataenvironment. Even though I do not have it set that way, it acts like a private data session. I could get it to work this way that you speak of, but not efficiently. I am thinking there is an easier and more efficient way to do what I need to do... Thanks for your input.

>>In my dataenvironment, I have a table with all fifty state codes and other info not being used in the current form. I have this table linked with a relation to a state code in another table which have one to many number of records with different states. I have a combobox linked to the statecode table by rowsource with the rowsourcetype as fields. When I select the state I want in the dropdown, it shows only those in the second table which are in that state in my grid, beautiful. When I first enter the tab which contains the grid, it shows a blank value as the statecode and shows all records in the second table, beautiful. Once I pick a state in the dropdown and have limited it, how can I get it to return to it's loaded state of showing all records in the second table without exiting the form and coming back into it?
