When I create VFP tables I always try to keep table names within 8 characters (plus .dbf) and fields no longer than 10.
Is it reasonable to keep the same limits (table name <= 8 and field <= 10) when creating SQL Server tables? That is, is there a downside to having long table names and field names?
Thank you.
