I recently experienced the behavior you describe with textmerge and VFP 9.

IMO, this sounds like a bug or at the very least poor design. I can't imagine a reasonable scenario where the current VFP 9 textmerge behavior is "by design".

I hope this gets addressed in the VFP 9 service pack.
