This seems to fix my problem.

Working with Business Objects, it was determined that a bug was introduced in one of their service packs or hot fixes. To resolve the problem, use the copy of crxf_pdf.dll from the original install disc. Business Objects has issued track number ADAPT00464610 to the issue.
