The application I am thinking of allows you to actually identify the user that left the file open, and close the file.

My application would send an email to my supervisor, telling him who had what file open, would close it, and then processes that require this file would be able to run.

We have tables that are rewritten each night, and are total replacements that people use during the workday, so changes that are made from one day to the next are not a concern.

I need to break the locks, and replace the DBF with a new one each night.
