thanks for the answer - it works great now. i do have a second question :).

in my test web service i tried putting in this line:

oIE = Createobject('internetexplorer.application')

however when we try and call the web service it errors out on that line and says "access is denied". i tried changing the virtual directory settings to allow "execute" but can't seem to make it work. any suggestions?
