>I'm teaching a beginners class on how too build a computer. Has anyone seen an animation of how the parts of a computer work together? Something that shows the cpu, ram, disk, etc communicating? I swear I've seen something like this before.

I have seen lots of flash animations in Cisco courses, but I don't have any specific reference for freely-available material. Searches on Google just seem to turn up more or less static Web pages.
