Thanks for the help. I had known about the bug, even before I had posted, but had never run into it before - just lucky I guess, because I've routinely (in 2.6) put over 1000 items in a drop down list (I know, it flies in the face of convention...). Now, I'm way too gunshy to want to do it again. I think I'm going to have to try your suggestion, I had just wanted to avoid the two objects doing apparently the same thing scenario, from the point of view of the user ('cause I know I'll hear about it and yes, they're spoiled, but that's another story all together :) ). There's also something about it I find unaesthetic(no offense meant, I honestly appreciate the help and suggestion). But maybe I have the wrong visualization going. Are there any viewable examples of something similar, like in the samples or on a web page that you could point me to? I keep visualizing a text box and a grid of two-4 visible record lines, then the user enters data (doing/seeing the incremental search - could be a selling point) and then picks off the grid when they get close and then does it gets stuffed back in the text box, which does(or can't?) have a control source identified - or is there a separate routine to save the picked item into the table of interest? Or am I over complicating things and being obtuse? Thanks for the help.
