thanks for your help. I changed it and it works. but what still makes me wonder is, thw change in behaviour from compiling it with VFP6 and VFP8.
And what also is strange ist that the old syntax, compiled with VFP8 not only works with VFP but also with ASP (VB.Script) and Delphi, but not with VB5/6 and Java (Using a wrapper module to use com).
