I understand the problem, and no, there's nothing special to consider if you have the correct printer driver. Personally I have many barcode printers, and they work flawlessly with the correct driver installed. Just hook connect the printer, and print your labels. But if Print Test Page does not work, something is wrong, either in your hardware, or you have the wrong printer driver. Try to connect another printer on the same port, and see if Print Test Page works.
