Couldn't have put it better myself. And they all seem to have the same voice (or are they all the same guy - the one I heard on the baseball game sounded exactly like the one on the "Friday Night Fights" boxing prog, but with a different side-kick ) - a rich, deep, sonorous, ernest CA lilt, full of bonhommie, but with a touch of simplicity and vulnerability.
