Thank you very much for your report.
I was talking with some people and they told me very scared stories that they even had to work "under cover" and dummy names because of those kinds of contracts with agencies. Because company can see how they are hardworking and wanted to motivate them better :)
So, I asked about that because you probably know UK IT market better than me. I tried to answer on advertisement - but there were only agencies with strange contracts (like never work directly for employer which they provide to you). I am a little bit confused and trying to find more information.

Thank you very much for your answer and share very sensible information again.

>You are wrong. It certainly is EASIER to get a job via agency (after all, that IS their raison d'etre) but jobs can be got via the usual channels of answering ads or applying foe them directly. Whereas agencies do take a percentage of your salary from the employer, I very much doubt it's higher than (or even as high as) the salary, and it's ON TOP of the salary, i.e. like a finder's fee to the employer for finding you. I understand this fee is payable for a certain negotiated length of time and notr during the whole employment period.
