Now you see why the British police aren't armed - they seem to get very trigger-happy, and they're lousy shots - 7/8 shots from 12" away!

What I can't see from most URLs given in this thread is the fact that:

The guy who'd been video0-survelling the suspect block of flats was taking a leak when Menzes exited the building so missed it. He said on air the (because of this) the guy was "worth another look"
There were 3/4 surveillance cops in the Tube train with him, who had followed him
The 3/4 armed officers came a bit later and the 1st they'd seen of the guy was when they were on the platform and one in the carriage pointed to Menzes and shouted that he was the guy.
He was dead within a minute of this.
I think when the cop pinioned his arms (as per stopping him blowing himself up), that signed his death warrant

Left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing, or what?

What incompetence - you let a suspected bus/Tube bomber get on a bus, then on the Tube - like letting a fox in the hen-house in order to catch him and blasting it with a shotgun.

With the first flush of reports I was reasonably satisfied but now this has really p*ssed me off!
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
