I've never been confronted to an indian phone conversation yet.

I hear more and more about those problems about not understanding them well. But I read in the newspaper that this should change soon. There's supposed to be classes in India to change accent of those working on the phone in India.

Thrice I have hung up on an individual after giving up attempting to communicate. Even yesterday a MSFT sales rep phoned and I could not understand her. It took 15 minutes to determine it was only a sales call! :o) Maybe that was MSFT's goal? :o)
