>>I played golf maybe a half dozen times in my life. Go out and hit a little ball every so often and drag around what seems to become 200 pounds of golf clubs for 3 or 4 hours, and think, "I got up at 4:00am on a Saturday for this??" Jeez.

>Alan, if you shot an 84 after just six rounds of golf in your life, maybe you missed your calling in life. An 84 after just six rounds of golf is unbelievable. I didn't break a 100 until about 30/40 rounds.

I had a pretty bad slice with a driver, but it was incredibly consistent, so I played it. I could make mincemeat out of doglegs.

When I was young, I was actually a pretty good athlete. Most sports came easy to me. I played 1 year of little league baseball when I was [I think] 11, but I joined a junior league when I was 19 and made the allstar team. I only played for 2 years, and then I was too old. One of the bird dogs told me I blew it by not sticking with it when I was younger. I coulda been a contender. <g>

I like to say that when I was young, everything was easy. Backflips, trampoline, gymnastics, etc - no big thing. Now, getting up out of a chair is hard. ;)

Of course like most guys who played the 4 main North American sports, everything creaks now, or just plain hurts. The knees are really fun.
