Is your cursor writable?
What mechanism do you use to get the next record? You say scroll - I presume via a grid. So, in the AfterRowColChange event of the grid, do you issue a form refresh, to ensure that the bound controls on the form are getting the most up-to-date values from the cursor.
Having said that, you say "Since this text box is based on a field in my SPT cursor" - I take this to MEAN the text box IS bound to the field in the cursor.

If I scroll through the records to a record where this field is empty, type in a value, move to next record, click in the text box to add a value, at this time the value I typed in before appears in the text box. Since this text box is based on a field in my SPT cursor, I don't want some automatic value populating this box.

- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
