Judaism is unique in that it is simultaneously a religion and an ethnicity. I identify myself completely as a Jew, even though my religious views are on the aetheist side of aetheist/agnositc. I feel comfortable in synagogue and get a spiritual uplift every time I go. It is a connection to the several thousand years of experience that have combined to help make me me. As an "ethnic" Jew, it should be no surprise that my favorite holiday is Passover because of the deep religious AND historic significance.

On the other hand, I am very inconsistent with regard to "Jews for Jesus." (Their term is, I think, either Messianic or Completed Jew) I know they feel different, but (at least in my opinion) regardless of one's belief in God, a Jew who accepts Jesus is a Christian who has disavowed his heritage.

I also realize (and respect the opionion of) religious Jews who feel the same way about those of us who don't accept the existence of a God and the complete veractiy and supremacy of Torah.
