1.  Get 'em all spayed/neutered.  It's better for you and them cos:
 if female they'll have the toms after them >= twice a year - gang rape and all that,
 if males they'll be forever fighting over the females and leaving your house smelling like the tide's gone  
 out and  exposed all the rotting seaweed,
 they might mate with each other

I love cats. My old friend had to be put to sleep last year, after 19 years' loyal service - broke my heart.
I named him Fingers cos, on his front paws, besides his dew claws, he also had thumbs, and a double claw between his thumb and first toe (so 7 obvious claws on each "hand"), and numerous other small claws between his toes, and it gave him risque name. Apparently this isn't so uncommon a mutation as you'd think, though I've neer seen it elsewhere.

Once he went missing for days, until a cat protection league woman brought him to us. He'd been hit by a car, and the vets he was taken to just happened to be ours. Well the vet, seeing the mutation, remembered him and looked up our file.

He used to fetch when he was young, jump up into my arms from the sidewalk on command, allowed you to turn his ear leathers inside-out (I do that to all cats). He was soft as cotton with my 2 kids when they were toddlers and pulling his tail etc. - never scratched them.
