Hi,
I would implement Sergey's idea of moving the files from the root directory, because if XP SP2 is installed your problem will only get worse, as the security enhancements have been tightened somewhat.

>I have several customers that are running into problems running a Visual Foxpro 6.0 SP5 application that tries to access DBF files that are at the root directory of the hard disk. It typically checks to see if a file is located at the root directory of the hard disk using FILE(), and then if it does not exist it copies it using STRTOFILE(), then it checks the attributes of the file to see if it's READONLY or SYSTEM or HIDDEN and if so it removes those attributes, then it opens the DBF file to get to the data using USE. The point at which it checks and tries to change the system attribute of the file is the place where the operating system apparently does not allow the file attributes to be changed. Does anyone have any ideas what is happening and what I can do to solve the problem? Thanks ahead of time for any ideas.
