This cuts both ways here...

- Why should I expend my time to solve someone's problem when it's obvious they haven't spent time to solve it themselves. If someone wants me to debug their code or provide mentoring, they can pay me...that's one of the services I offer. I am willing to give people pointers on how to solve a problem or show them where to get answers. Providing an actual solution is different.

- Many times, in attempting to help someone, I've asked basic questions, only to get nasty replies that they had already tried that. Umm..well.. they didn't say that when they posted the original question.
