Hi,

<snip>How to disable disk caching ?

The flush should fix the problem.

To disable write caching, it has to be done on both the workstation and server in Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager, Right click on the hard drive & select properties then under the policies tab uncheck the Enable write caching on disk, save then reboot.

>> P.S. On a highly loaded system I have seen the OS drop a dirty cache without ensuring that it was written back to disk.

Have you ever had the error message "Edits were lost" in WORD, this is when it happens.

This is well documented by many DB providers i.e. MYSQL, DataFlex etc, and I have confirmed it during testing.

BTW a system can work perfectly for 12 Months, then you add one or two additional workstations then the problems start.
