That's right. You can use ado.net in Vulcan.

While most DBF support in .NET is unmanaged Vulcan is different - VulcanDB is managed code. That means that unlike some other .NET DBF software, Vulcan provides DBF support on mobile devices. It was shown at the MS Mobile and Embedded Devcon and at TechEd recently. And of course, VulcanDB is useable from other .NET languages, as you can see in the example of it running on a PDA here: http://www.vulcandotnet.com/VulcanDB_on_Mobile_Device.htm.
